According to Jerod Garland, Lady Dutch basketball head coach, the most important game of the season will be their season-opener at home against Ballard. After that? Their next game versus A-D-M. After that? That would be their road game against Mount Pleasant. If you’re noticing a trend, it’s the philosophy that coach Garland is implementing this season, that no one game is more important than another. In fact, Garland told KNIA/KRLS Sports that “every time we put on the Pella uniform, that becomes the most important game.” It may be a coach’s cliché, but after losing a good chunk of their players to graduation, it is the smartest way to look at things. The Lady Dutch had a season record of 13 – 10 last campaign, and will open up their season, as mentioned, at home against Ballard this Tuesday.
