The Pella City Council met last night to look at multiple rezoning issues. A third and final reading of an ordinance rezoning a plot of land on West 3rd Street failed. Two council members were absent which meant the lone dissenting vote from Councilman Vander Horst left only 3 yes votes, when 4 are required. A compensation plan for the volunteer Fire Department was set, and multiple policy and planning sessions were held, to discuss a new downtown speaker system, and to look at planned road projects for next year.
