Following their last-minute win over Pleasantville on Tuesday 50 – 47, the Melcher-Dallas Saints girls’ basketball team will be looking to carry that momentum through the rest of the week as they begin to prepare for a tough Moravia squad on Friday. Saints’ head coach, Jon Suntken, said that it was huge for his girls to be on the “correct” side of the close games, especially considering how young of a group he has.
“I think it was huge for no other reason than for the belief factor,” Suntken explained. “We can do this, we can get this done. If you look on the flipside of that and you come out of that game with a loss, all of a sudden, they start having doubts in their minds, where now they have a huge confidence builder coming into Moravia Friday night, so hopefully, we can keep this rolling.”
The 1 – 1 Melcher-Dallas Saints girls will start a four-game road trip on Friday at Moravia, a game that will tip off at 6:15 p.m.
