Both the Melcher-Dallas and Twin Cedars girls’ teams are off to very different starts this season. For Melcher-Dallas, they struggled against Wayne, and it took a late push against a young Pleasantville squad to come out with a win. Coach Jon Suntken told KNIA/KRLS Sports, that his team has a lot to work to do to eliminate mistakes and handle the ball better during games. For Twin Cedars, they have ridden their senior leaders to a 2 – 0 start in convincing wins over Pleasantville and Wayne. Sabers’ head girls basketball coach, Justin Nolte, said that so far, he would like to see his girls clean up their play a little bit on the defensive side of the ball and not give up as many easy baskets as they had in their first two games. Both the Saints’ and Sabers’ girls’ teams will join forces with the boys for doubleheaders tonight. Melcher-Dallas travels to Moravia, while Twin Cedars goes to Murray.
