It was not the start to the 2012-13 season coach Jon Suntken had hoped for from his Melcher-Dallas Saints girls basketball team, as the Falcons of Wayne easily won last night in game number one, 58 – 19. Suntken told KNIA/KRLS Sports that his girls caught the turnover bug, giving the ball away 30 times, which led to easy transition points for the Falcons. Heading the Saints’ attack was junior Maddie Roland who had ten points and seven boards, while senior Lexi Crozier also grabbed seven rebounds in the loss. The Saints are 0 – 1 to start the year, and will host Pleasantville this Tuesday at 6:15 p.m.
