Assistant Marion County Attorney Benjamin Hayek has been named to the 2011-2012 Iowa Pro Bono Honor Roll. Hayek, who was hired by the Attorney’s Office in July, earned the distinction by putting in more than 50 hours of pro bono work while in private practice in Johnson County last year. County Attorney Ed Bull notes that he was one of just six Johnson County attorneys to provide more than 50 hours of free legal services to those who are unable to pay. He says that it speaks volumes to Hayek’s integrity, and he’s proud to have Hayek working in the Marion County Attorney’s Office and that he has received the accolades he deserved for his dedicated community service.
