The Bedford girls rolled, while Pleasantville’s boys had to fight off a late deficit to get back to the winning side of things on the basketball court Friday night. The Bedford girls, who are ranked No. 1 for a reason, steamrolled over the Trojans’ 64 – 27. Head coach Aaron Fichter said after the game, that he’s happy with the effort his team put out on the court against arguably the toughest competitor they’ll face this season. His team is still working towards playing a solid 32 minute game. Kennedy Core led the team again in scoring with 15 points, while Maddie Harken added six. The Pleasantville boys were down ten in the second half, before going on a big run to win the game in front of the home crowd 76 – 59. Dylan Lauer had 23, Chris Peden added 18, and Patrick Sheehey had ten big points off the bench. The Trojans’ girls are still winless on the season, while the boys improve to 5 – 1, and each team will return to Pride of Iowa Conference play on the road Tuesday to face Southeast Warren.
