After finishing last in Knoxville at Fairlane Bowl on December 1, the Pella Christian Eagles’ bowling team greatly improved their effort on the lanes this past Saturday in Oskaloosa. As far as team scores went, the Eagles jumped up to second on the boys’ side with 2,533; finishing second to Newton, while the Eagles’ girls fell by a few pins on their team from last week. Individually, Spencer Fynaardt was second on the boys’ side with a two-game series of 435, finishing only 12 pins behind Andy Lammey of Newton who racked up 447. For the girls, Jaynee VandeWeerdhof was fourth overall with a 331 total after a pair of games. Next up for the bowling teams is an early morning trip to Newton this Saturday for a conference meet at 9:00 a.m.
