It’s a college road trip for the Pella Christian basketball teams today, as the Eagles will make their way to Sioux Center and Dordt College to play Western Christian in the highly anticipated matchup. The Eagles’ girls will be looking for a measure of revenge against the team that defeated them for the state championship in March. Both teams enter tonight with an undefeated record; Pella Christian is ranked 11th in the state while the Wolfpack are right at the top of the most recent poll with a 7 – 0. Over on the boys’ side, Pella Christian is 5 – 1 while Western Christian sits with a 5 – 0 record. Much like the Eagles, the Wolfpack does not feature a player under six feet tall on their roster. Eagles’ head boys basketball coach, Larry Hessing, said that they don’t know much about Western Christian other than the fact that they have another good ball club this year. Today’s girls’ and boys’ games will be streamed live at kniakrls.com, with Cory Houser and Wynne Veenstra making the road trip with the teams, starting with the Bruxvoort’s Decorating Center Pregame show at 1:15 p.m., and the girls will tip off at 1:30. The boys’ game is scheduled for 6:45 p.m., but will tip off sooner if the games before move swiftly. Make sure to keep checking kniakrls.com for more updates as the games approach tip-off.
