Coaches always say to take games one at a time, but for the Melcher-Dallas girls’ basketball team, it will be hard to stay focused on the task at hand next Monday with the team they have to play the very next night. Already having the duty of playing a Lamoni squad that’s riding a three-game winning streak heading into the confrontation with Melcher-Dallas on January 7, the Saints’ girls need to put their very next game after, against bitter rival, Twin Cedars, on the back burner. Head coach, Jon Suntken, said it will be a very tough challenge for his team to fight the urge to think about the currently undefeated Sabers’ girls. Suntken also told KNIA/KRLS Sports that they’ll have to take it one quarter at a time so they can get ready for the battle against Twin Cedars. The Melcher girls are 3 – 6 starting off 2013.
