For the first time since 1997, Knoxville will have a player in the Iowa Shrine Bowl this summer. Aaron Crossett was selected to the South Squad as a linebacker. Crossett led the Panthers this past fall in tackles with 132 tackles, 78 solo and ten for loss, he also recorded seven sacks this season. Crossett will be joined by his coach, Knoxville Head Coach Troy Rider on the South Squad. This is the first time since 1997 that a Knoxville player has been a part of the Shrine Bowl. That year Andy Kelley was selected. Rider becomes the first coach from Knoxville since Bob Christy in 1991. The 41st Iowa Shrine Bowl will be Saturday July 27th at the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls.
