Both Pella High basketball teams look to have their hands full tonight as they make the travel to Dallas Center-Grimes for a girls-boys doubleheader. The DCG Fillies are off to a 3 – 3 start, however, they have looked very impressive in their losses, including a three-point loss to current No. 2 in the state Winterset. The Lady Dutch are on a three-game slide at the moment, most recently falling to another ranked team in Oskaloosa 55 – 36 last Friday. Head coach, Jerod Garland, said that he liked the intensity out of his girls, and would like to see even more out of his young squad in this evening’s game, as well as see them limit the turnovers and make smarter passes. The boys of Pella have had a little more success lately, starting 4 – 0, and are fresh off a walloping of Oskaloosa 66 – 41 a week ago, and are facing the Mustangs of DCG that handled the Little Dutch last year, 54 – 41, in a very chippy game, according to head coach, Mark Core. The Mustangs are also 4 – 0 at this point in the season and are returning a lot of starters and height to tonight’s contest, which will be streamed live at kniakrls.com. Coverage starts at 6:00 p.m. with the pregame show, and Cory Houser will have the play-by-play of the girls’ game at 6:15. There will also be a delayed broadcast of the game on 92.1 KRLS at the conclusion of the Pella Christian broadcast.
