PCM’s home crowd had much to cheer about Friday night, as both the boys’ and girls’ Mustangs won their games over C-M-B. There wasn’t much of a game on either side; the boys had a running clock in the third quarter and won 61 – 36. Zach Uhlenhopp had a nice bounce back game, scoring 11 points after being held scoreless at Colfax-Mingo, and Dillon Bruxvoort added ten. The Mustangs’ girls were able to handle C-M-B 49 – 35, thanks to 18 points from Courtney VanHouweling and 14 from Abbi Gilson. Head coach, Bret Grier, had 5’10” Kelsey Townsend on their best and tallest player, Abbie Haupert, and limited her to four points and four fouls. The Mustangs’ boys are now 8 – 0, while the girls, with their third straight win, improve to 5 – 4. Each team is back in action on the road on Tuesday night, facing Heart of Iowa Conference member, North Polk.
