East 3rd Street in Pella is now open after months of road work closed the road. The project was part of an IDNR mandate which required the city to remove all bypasses in the sanitary sewer system. The project included increasing the size of the sanitary sewer main to 21” and the installation of a new storm sewer and intakes. That project along with the rebricking of West 1st Street were the final two major road projects of the year in Pella. Denny Buyert says he is pleased with how those projects went. Looking towards next year, Buyert says that work on the intersection of Washington and Broadway is planned. Construction on Oskaloosa Street was pushed back a year.
