Central’s head women’s basketball coach, Mike Jacobsma, has been waiting for bench player, Bry Pierce to come off the bench and have a big game, and she did just that this past Saturday, scoring a career and game-high 23 points in 23 minutes of action in a 78 – 48 blowout of Bethany Lutheran. Jacobsma told KNIA/KRLS Sports that the last few weeks of practice, he and the coaching staff had been working with her on her form underneath the basket. Pierce only had 48 points through seven games before her dominating performance on Saturday. She went 8-for-11 from the field and 7-of-9 from the charity stripe. Pierce is now the fourth leading scorer on the team for the 5 – 3 Dutch women, who will next play at home against Augustana this Saturday.
