Saints’ Brothers’ Effort Level Going Long Way So Far

Both Chase and Clay Wetterling have been forces to be reckoned with on the court for the Melcher-Dallas Saints’ boys’ basketball team. Head coach, Jim Wells, has been very proud of their determination on the court, specifically on the defensive side of the ball.
“Both the Wetterling boys have been doing a real nice job, especially on the defensive end,” Wells said. “I know Chase is averaging close to ten points per game. The part that gets left out is his defensive effort and his assists. He’s been putting out a lot of assists this year, and so has Clay. Clay’s got several steals for the season and he’s had several assists. They’re both pretty good passers, heady players, play hard the whole time they’re in there.”
The brothers have combined for almost 40 steals through eight games, and also have tallied 50 assists, with 33 coming from the hands of the younger Wetterling sibling. Offensively, they provide nearly 16 points per game on top of their defensive performances. Melcher-Dallas is sitting with a 4 – 4 record entering the 2013 part of the season, and the boys will first play on January 4 at Diagonal.
