This year’s KNIA/KRLS was a huge success with more food and more cash donations this year than last year. The food drive helped fill the shelves at the Pella Food Pantry, Helping Hands food pantry, and food pantries in Pleasantville, Melcher-Dallas, and Bussey. We were also able to help the Marion County Community Action Center and the Knoxville Optimist club by providing food to help prepare food baskets for needy families.

The entire county came forward to help with the food drive. We appreciate the help and partnership with Hormel Foods providing food and cash donations for food, and the partnership with Marion County Farm Bureau, who provided a $1,000 matching cash donation that we were able to double and whose members helped man different food drive events. Again, this was a hugely successful event that could not happen without the help of many people and of course our entire staff at KNIA/KRLS.
