Twin Cedars capped their week off with a sweep of visiting Iowa Christian Academy in a pair of boys and girls basketball games Saturday. The Sabers’ boys rebounded after a demoralizing loss to Diagonal on Friday, winning 51 – 29. Twin Cedars had a 30 – 14 lead at halftime, and led 46 – 22 after three periods. Head coach Alan Stewart’s guys had a big night from two different starters for a change, as senior Eric Clark led the way with 14, and junior Coy Moore had 12. Twin Cedars’ girls breezed their way to a 7 – 0 record with a 57 – 21 victory. The Sabers were able to hold the Trailblazers to just 17 points through three quarters, getting the running clock on them by the end of the period. Alee Hugen had 15 points, Brittney Roby added nine points and eight rebounds, while sophomore Shyann DenBurger came off the bench and contributed five points and eight boards. Twin Cedars’ girls team stays undefeated, while the boys improve to 4 – 3. Each team has one final game to get through before the holiday break, and that’s a visit from Albia on Tuesday.
