The Pleasantville Trojans’ boys basketball team took care of business, while the girls had another tough go at it last night at Central Decatur. The Trojans’ boys had another 20-plus lead late in the game over the Cardinals, when head coach Tom Wilkins put in his subs, and the game finished at 61 – 47 in favor of Pleasantville. Dylan Lauer and Trever Zoss had another big game, contributing 18 and 16 points, respectively, while the team shot a lot better from the free throw line than they did against Melcher-Dallas, going 16 – 20 on the night. Coach Wilkins told KNIA/KRLS Sports that it was a half-court game and his guys didn’t have a lot of fast break/transition opportunities. For the girls, they got off to another slow start, only scoring 17 first half points to the Cardinals girls’ 48, which led to a 75 – 45 loss on the side of Pleasantville. The Trojans’ boys are 2 – 0 to start the year, while the girls are 0 – 4 and each will have the weekend off to prepare for their home game against Wayne on Tuesday.
