Twin Cedars’ girls’ basketball team may have had vengeance on the mind, but whatever it was, it propelled them to a 48 – 36 victory over Moravia and their second consecutive Bluegrass Conference Tournament title. Head coach, Justin Nolte told KNIA/KRLS Sports that the biggest key to their victory was their defense stepping up big and guarding the post. Brittney Roby led all scorers with 18 points, while Ayla Crosby threw in 13. Melcher-Dallas’ girls fell in the consolation game to Murray 50 – 25 to finish fourth place in the annual tournament. Hannah Beltman had nine points to lead the Saints who will next play Mormon Trail on Tuesday to get back to regular conference play, while the Sabers will travel back to Moravia for the rubber match between the two squads.
