People from all over the state showed up for bald eagle day over the weekend. Bald eagle day sheds light on the importance of birds of prey of all kinds, including, falcons, owls, hawks and eagles. Many birds of prey were shown live and in person at packed shows at Central College. At the North Tailwater Recreation Area, scopes were set up, but spotters in the area said that less bald eagles were present than normal because there was open water over the lake, and the birds weren’t limited to hunting downstream of the dam.
