Getting off to sluggish 1 – 3 starts in the Iowa Conference, both the men’s and women’s basketball teams for Central will get back on the bus this afternoon headed to Dubuque to face Loras College. This past Wednesday, the women stumbled against Dubuque College while the men finally erased the zero out of the win column in conference play with a win. Central’s women seemingly will have a tough time against the Duhawks, as they come into today’s match-up with a 12 – 3 record, most recently losing to first place Simpson on Thursday. Loras’s women are undefeated at home this season, and have a very balanced scoring attack, with seven players averaging at least five points per game. The Duhawk men aren’t faring as well as the women, as they enter play with a 5 – 10 record and are winless in the Iowa Conference. The Dutch will have to contain both Connor Mooney and Nate Smith, who each average better than ten points per game. This afternoon’s college basketball doubleheader will air live on 92.1 KRLS and streamed live on kniakrls.com, as Cory Houser and Justin Webster will pack their bags and head up to Dubuque, starting with pregame coverage at 1:45 p.m.
