Invent Iowa continues Friday morning at Northstar Elementary. The annual event gives kids the opportunity to create an invention to help solve an everyday problem. Knoxville teacher Jean Brandt organizes the event. She says the project allows kids to go through the invention process and think creatively about problem-solving issues. This year, the top three local winners will advance to a regional competition and will also receive admission to the opening night at the Knoxville Raceway. That admission is being provided by the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame and Museum. Invent Iowa continues today from 8:30-11am at Northstar and is open to the public.
