Knoxville took two loses from Norwalk last night as the girls fell 41-20. The Panthers were limited on offense by Norwalk’s trapping defense. On the other side of the court, the Warriors lived in the paint getting drives to the basket on nearly every possession. Taylor Carter led Knoxville with seven points as the Panthers fall to 6-10 on the season and 2-7 in the Little Hawkeye Conference. On the boys side, while a 28 point loss would usually mean not much went right for the Panthers, Coach Jeff Larson said there were a lot of positives that came out of Knoxville 60-32 setback to the Warriors. He said the guys’ effort was much better than the past couple of games due in large part to making several changes in practice. Larson added the guys were more patient with the ball on offense and that was opening up shots that unfortunately just did not go down. Chase Higgenbotham led Knoxville with seven points. Knoxville is now 0-16 on the season and 0-9 in the conference. The Panthers host Pella on Friday, in addition it is also the Hall of Fame induction ceremony between the girls and boys games.
