The Knoxville High School Athletic Hall of Fame will be holding their annual induction ceremonies this Friday. Being inducted this year are Mike Conway, Tracy (Flowers) Curren, and the 1975 football team. Joe Cunningham with the Hall of Fame Committee, says recognizing past athletes in this matter is important because in a town like Knoxville, the school system is often the heart of the community. He notes that for many athletes inducted into the Hall of Fame, the event is a homecoming of sorts and can be very emotional. He encourages everyone to come out to the public recognition ceremony between the girls’ and boys’ basketball games Friday. There’s also a luncheon banquet on Friday – Cunningham says tickets to that are sold out.
