Players to Honor Loved Ones During Coaches vs Cancer

A full day of activities is scheduled this Saturday as the Knoxville community gets ready for the Coaches vs Cancer event. Alumni games start at 10:30 Saturday morning, which is also when the silent auction will be open.

Girls Head Coach and event organizer Jim Uitermarkt says they’ve added some new things this year; among them, each member of the boys’ and girls’ team for both Knoxville and Chariton have named a person who has fought cancer that they’re playing in honor or memory of.

Tickets for Saturday’s game will begin being sold at 5pm – the girls’ varsity game begins at 6:15. You can check out the full schedule below:

10:30-8:00 – Silent Auction
10:30 – 6-on-6 Women’s Alumni Game
11:15 – 5-on-5 Women’s Alumni Game
12:00 – Men’s Alumni Game
1:00 – Men’s Alumni Game
2:00 – Men’s Alumni Game
3:00 – Men’s Alumni Game
3:30-8:30 – Meal served by Steve Coon
6:15 – Varsity Girls’ Basketball Game (Halftime entertainment: Five shooting contests with raffle tickets drawn to participate)
7:30 – Cancer Survivor Ceremony Between Games
8:00 – Varsity Boys’ Basketball Game (Halftime entertainment: 46 second challenge in the crowd; Knoxville Dance Team; five shooting contests with raffle tickets drawn to participate; raffle tickets drawn for quilt and sprint car ride)
