Pleasantville Hits the Road for Longest Trip of the Year

Corning is the destination for Pleasantville basketball tonight, as the Trojans will hit the road for perhaps their biggest, and longest, hike this season. The girls still have a dreaded donut in the win column, but have a winnable game ahead of them against the Red Raiders. Corning’s girls are 3 – 10 and have lost four straight, but have shot the ball well this season, making over 41 percent of their shots. The biggest problem for Corning has been turnovers; averaging 24 per game in their first 12 contests. Trojans’ coach, Aaron Fichter, said after their loss last Friday to Nodaway Valley, that the fickle play of his team will smooth out and something they constantly try and work on. The Trojans’ boys are fresh off a win on Tuesday, and should seemingly have an easy time against a 1 – 11 Corning team that has had its struggles in the scoring department; failing to eclipse the 50-point mark in any contest this season. Pleasantville is 7 – 2 heading into the doubleheader tonight, which will be streamed live at kniakrls.com, starting with pregame coverage at 6:15 p.m. and tip-off of the girls’ game at 6:30.
