Officials representing Knoxville will be in Des Moines tonight as the city finds out if it’ll be a
part of one of Iowa’s staple events. The RAGBRAI Route Announcement Party takes place at 8pm at the Iowa Events Center. Knoxville has been a RAGBRAI stop two times in the past – first in 1991, and then again in 2000. RAGBRAI generally has a very positive economic impact on each of its stops – nearly 10,000 people participate in the bike ride that goes from the Missouri River to the Mississippi River. KNIA/KRLS will let you know if Knoxville is able to land a spot on the route.
