It was another rough night for Twin Cedars’ basketball Monday, as the Rockets blew up both the boys and girls in a doubleheader sweep. The girls kept It close after 16 minutes, but some costly turnovers proved to be the difference in a 74 – 48 defeat. Alee Hugen led in scoring with 17 points to go along with nine rebounds, and Brittney Roby had 16 points on 7-of-16 shooting. The boys had their own problems shooting the ball, falling 65 – 54 to the Rockets. They had it down to single digits in the fourth but couldn’t pull any closer than seven. Derek Springer had 16 points to lead the Sabers while Otis Roby added 15. After starting the season 8 – 0, the Twin Cedars’ girls have dropped their last two, while the boys are 5 – 5. The Bussey squads don’t have long to rest, as they’ll be travelling to rival Melcher-Dallas for another doubleheader this evening.
