Students Getting Very Involved in Coaches vs Cancer

The Knoxville Girls’ basketball team continues to get more involved in Coaches vs Cancer each year as the event continues to grow. This year, senior Katie Cunningham took charge of organizing the alumni games. She says that 87 people will be playing in the six games, which begins with a six-on-six game at 10:30am Saturday. Every member of the team has donated at least one item to the auction, and Cunningham says most have donated several. Cunningham and a freshman member, Ashley Hawkshead, also organized a can drive by themselves.

3:30-8:30 – Meal served by Steve Coon
6:15 – Varsity Girls’ Basketball Game (Halftime entertainment: Five shooting contests with raffle tickets drawn to participate)
7:30 – Cancer Survivor Ceremony Between Games
8:00 – Varsity Boys’ Basketball Game (Halftime entertainment: 46 second challenge in the crowd; Knoxville Dance Team; five shooting contests with raffle tickets drawn to participate; raffle tickets drawn for quilt and sprint car ride)
