The Pleasantville girls’ and boys’ basketball teams split Friday night’s doubleheader with Corning. The night started with the Trojan girls falling 60-25 to the Red Raiders. Pleasantville went into the locker room at halftime down only 12 but Corning came out and hit their first six shots of the second half to open up the lead. Sophomore Kennedy Core led the girls with 16 points on the night. The Pleasantville Boys improved to 10 – 2 on the year after they defeated the Red Raiders 72-12 on Friday night. Pleasantville ended the first quarter with a season high 35 points while giving up only six. Josh Luna led the team with 22 points on the night. After the game Coach Wilkins talked about the improvements he saw in his teams’ Defense. The Trojan girls and boys teams will be in action next on Monday at Albia.
