The Twin Cedars’ basketball teams added another game to their current winning streaks by handily defeating Mormon Trail on Friday. The girls didn’t have as easy of a time as they did when the two teams first met earlier this season, but nevertheless, the Sabers walked out with a 65 – 43 win. Alee Hugen had 19 points, Ayla Crosby had 13, and the team as a whole came up with 25 steals. Good passing was the key to victory for the Sabers’ boys, winning 54 – 37. Coach Alan Stewart told KNIA/KRLS Sports that his team wasn’t hitting many shots from the outside, so they started going down low and had a lot more success. The girls have now won seven straight and are 15 – 2 on the year, while Twin Cedars’ boys have claimed three victories in a row, and are now 9 – 7. Twin Cedars hits the road later today for a doubleheader against Ankeny Christian.
