Highway 5 January 28, 2013

One woman was transported to Iowa Methodist in Des Moines after a one-vehicle accident yesterday morning. A red Ford Focus struck a tree after losing control on an s-Curve on Highway 5 north of Marysville. Traffic was blocked for nearly an hour-and-a-half as responders extracted the woman and cleaned up the scene of the accident. Fog is believed to have played a contributing role in the accident. The woman’s name is being withheld pending notification of out-of-state relatives and her condition is unknown. Fire and Rescue Departments from Bussey, Indiana Township, and Lovilia responded to the scene, as did Pella Ambulance and the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. KNIA/KRLS will bring you more information as soon as it becomes official.
