Both the Melcher-Dallas and Twin Cedars’ boys’ basketball squads ended the regular season with a win on Friday night. The Saints won 62 – 46 over Wayne, and the Sabers took down South Page 88 – 63. Coach Alan Stewart told KNIA/KRLS Sports that it was his defense that was lacking, but was overall happy with the offensive work his guys showed on the court. Otis Roby had a big night, scoring 33 points, Eric Clark had 20, and Dylan Springer bucketed 11 for the Sabers, who finish up the regular season at 13 – 8 and winners of seven of their last eight. Melcher-Dallas will play Southeast Warren in the first round of the Class 1A regional tournament on Monday, while Twin Cedars faces off at home against North Mahaska on Thursday in round two.
