Many residents of Attica and the surrounding area woke up Sunday morning with no water, or with low water pressure. Water pressure was restored later that day. Bill Gibbons, with the Department of Natural Resources, tells KNIA/KRLS news that the loss of pressure was due to a malfunctioning gauge in a Marion County Rural Water tower. The gauge indicated that the tower had more water in it than it actually did. After the problem was identified, water was manually released into the tower, and pressure was restored. Since there were no broken pipes, it was determined that a boil advisory was unnecessary.
