The PCM girls’ basketball team had their ten-game winning streak snapped Saturday night in Bondurant as they fell 48-42 in the first round of the postseason. The Mustangs went back and forth with the Lady Jays in the first two quarters, and trailed 23-19 at the break. Leading the Jays in the first half was Madi Atzen who tallied 15 points, while a right leg injury to her twin sister Lexi allowed the Mustangs to steal some momentum. Pressure mounted late in the final frame as PCM trailed by three points with the ball and 30 seconds to play, when an unfortunate lapse in communication created a turnover that sank the hopes of a Mustang victory. The loss ends the 2012-2013 campaign for the girls’ squad as they finish the season with a 15-7 record. They also said goodbye to five seniors that include: Krisha Houseman, Kelsey Townsend, Payge Edwards, Kaitlyn Wilkie and Kaylee Woody.
