It won’t be easy, but the Pella Christian basketball teams have a chance to clinch an outright Little Hawkeye Conference championship tonight when they host Grinnell in a doubleheader. The Eagles were able to sweep Grinnell on the road a few weeks ago, but tonight, they’ll more than likely be without Lauren Jungling again, who is still recovering from an injury. Hannah Beltman and Madison Fopma have each been seeing more time off the bench, and have pitched in quality minutes for the team. The Tigers played the Eagles tough in their first meeting, and Coach Kevin Van Maanen said that Grinnell is starting to become a force in the conference and in the state. The Eagles’ girls clinch a postseason title with a win or a loss by Norwalk tonight against Oskaloosa. Pella Christian’s boys can do no worse than share the conference title with Grinnell tonight because the Eagles beat the Tigers earlier this year and have a one game lead on them. The doubleheader tonight will be aired live on 92.1 KRLS and streamed online at kniakrls.com with Cory Houser on the call. Pregame starts immediately after Focus on the Family at around 6:00.
