Representative Greg Heartsill says an education reform package is getting closer to clearing the Iowa House. Full debate on the package is expected on the House floor this week. Heartsill tells KNIA/KRLS News he thinks they may be able to send their version of the bill to the Senate by the end of the week and start on allowable growth. Last week, Heartsill says that Education Committee members were debating the bill well past midnight Wednesday night in order to ensure progress continues to be made.

The Senate has already passed four percent allowable growth for the next two fiscal years.
