Knoxville native Emily Klootwyk was named the Iowa Premier Pork Youth Ambassador at last month’s 41st annual Iowa Pork Congress Banquet. She won a completion against five other candidates, all of whom were judged on their skills, poise, presentation, and overall knowledge of the pork industry and Iowa agriculture.

Klootwyk, a freshman at Iowa State University, will represent the Premier Pork Association at various promotional and education events throughout the next year. She receives a $2000 scholarship for being named youth ambassador. Klootwyk is also the current Iowa State Fair Queen Outstanding Leadership Award Winner.
