At 11:30am on Wednesday a fire was reported at 560 180th Ave. just off Highway 163 northwest of Pella. A machine shed had caught fire. The Pella Rural Fire Department responded to the scene and was able to contain the fire. The fire appeared to originate from a loft in the machine shed. The fire department cut a hole in the side of the building and was able to get water into the upper portions of the shed. The fire was put out by around 12:30pm. The deed to the property is owned by Howard Dunink. The Pella Ambulance, Pella Cooperative Electric, Marion County Sheriff’s Office, and Marion County Emergency Management also responded to the scene.
