Area road crews have been busy as the snow falls. The Marion County Secondary Roads Department has been on paved roads since 4am, though gravel roads may not be plowed until Saturday. Knoxville Fire Chief Nick Bonstell and Pella Fire Chief Doug Van Gorkom remind residents to make sure fire hydrants are visible from the street. Bonstell and Pella Ambulance Director Doug Polking add that if you must travel this afternoon, make sure you have emergency supplies such as duct tape, snacks, and blankets. Knoxville Assistant City Manager Dylan Feik says they will focus on the main roads before plowing the side streets. The Knoxville and Pella snow ordinances remain in effect until further notice.
