A high speed chase with speeds exceeding 130mph with a child passenger involved has resulted in the death of one adult at the conclusion of the chase in Indianola. According to Warren and Marion County authorities, the chase began at approximately 2:30AM in the West Des Moines area, came south and east through Warren and Marion Counties down Highway 5 through Pleasantville. At the Pleasantville Y the chase proceeded westward back into Warren County. The chase came to an end at Highway 92 and 15th Street in Indianola. A variety of law enforcement agencies were involved in pursuit, including the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. Reports are that the fleeing vehicle and a police vehicle were both totaled at the scene. The condition of the child has not been released. The Iowa State Patrol is investigating the incident, and KNIA/KRLS News will bring you information as soon as it is official.
