Central College has announced the lowest tuition increase in 40 years for the 2014 term. Rates for tuition and room and board went up only 3.95%, a low increase compared to the national average of 7.5%. Central President Mark Putnam says it isn’t easy keeping rate increases low, and you have to balance it with the number of students attending and facility needs. He says despite the difficulties they are committed to keep their price low and providing financial assistance to their students.
