Two athletes and one team will be honored Friday as they become members of the Knoxville High School Athletic Hall of Fame. Mike Conway, Tracy (Flowers) Curran, and the 1975 football team will all be recognized tonight between the girls’ and boys’ basketball games against Pella. Joe Cunningham, with the Hall of Fame Committee, says some of the football players are coming from as far out as Oregon to be here Friday.

He explains that it’s important to honor the great athletes from the school’s past because the school is the heart of rural communities and something that brings everyone together. He says the moment is very emotional for some people and is almost a homecoming of sorts. Cunningham encourages the community to come out and show their support for these athletes on Friday evening at the high school.
