Knoxville Bowling Squads Headed To State Meet

The Knoxville Bowling Squads swept the competition at the State Qualifying meet yesterday held at Knoxville’s Fairlane Bowl. It is the second trip to state for the boys and the first for the girls in program history. The girls came away with a total of 2,477 to runner up Newton’s 2,165. Jordan Beaver rolled a 390 to take top individual honors and Makenzie McCarty rolled a 353 to get runner-up. Pella Christian came in sixth in the team standings with a 1,892 total. On the boys side, Knoxville amassed 2,757 pins to runner-up Newton’s 2,517. Knoxville’s Jake Steele got top individual honors with a 479. Pella Christian was fifth in the team standings with 2,160 total pins, while Spencer Fynaart placed third with a 402. The State Bowling Meet will take place at Plaza Lanes in Des Moines next Thursday at one.
