The Knoxville Girls Basketball Squad embarks on the postseason tonight. The Panthers host Carlisle in a first round class 4A game. This is the first season Knoxville has competed in 4A, which was due to the Iowa High School Girls Athletic Union expanding girls basketball to five classes this season. Knoxville and Carlisle have played once this season with the Panthers getting a 12 point win over the Wildcats. Carlisle is also winless in 21 games this season, something that is not lost on Knoxville Coach Jim Utiermarkt. Utiermarkt adds he has scouted Carlisle in the past few weeks since knowing Knoxville would play the Wildcats. You can hear the play-by-play on AM 1320 KNIA with Derek Cardwell starting with the pre game at 6:45.
