The Mayor’s Youth Council in Knoxville learned a little bit more about the political process this week. Mayor Don Zoutte says that their eight member council took a trip up to the State Capitol midday Tuesday. He explains they were able to take a tour of the building, including a venture up to the top of the dome. They also met with Representative Greg Heartsill, Senator Amy Sinclair, and Governor Terry Branstand and Lieutenant Governor Kim Reynolds. Zoutte says they all answered questions from the kids and were great hosts. He says it was an educational experience and he looks forward to doing it again next year.
