Forcing 12 more turnovers than they committed helped the Melcher-Dallas Saints win their first round game over Southeast Warren on Monday night, 56 – 39. Coach Jim Wells told KNIA/KRLS Sports that his guys really came out to play, and did some of their best defensive work of the season in their game over the WarHawks; driving Southeast Warren to giveaway the ball 23 times. Ross Dawson had a near double-double with 18 points and nine boards, while Chase Wetterling scored 13. Melcher-Dallas improves to 11 – 10 on the season, and they’ll next play in Pleasantville on Thursday against the Trojans in a rematch of each team’s regular season opener.
