Knoxville Hospital and Clinic’s new physical therapy team is bringing many programs to the community; one of their special interests is sports medicine. Steve Cassabaum, with 21st Century Rehab, says they’ve been very active in the communities that they serve and hope to that will continue in Knoxville. He explains that they want to work with student athletes and coaches on a variety of preventive measures as well as rehabilitation for injuries. Cassabaum says they also plan on providing coverage during varsity home games and will work with other departments in the hospital to ensure student athletes can see physicians and get free screenings to find out how far along they are in recovery. He says schools are the center of life for many rural communities and this is the best way they can get involved in the community.
