Twin Cedars’ girls opened up their 2013 run to the state tournament by breezing past Moulton-Udell on Thursday night, winning by a final score of 55 – 19. Coach Justin Nolte told KNIA/KRLS Sports that this was perhaps his girls’ best defensive effort, as they took the ball away 23 different times. Alee Hugen dumped in 22 points, and Brittney Roby had a double-double with 13 points and ten rebounds. Twin Cedars is now 19 – 3 on the year, and advance to the second round of their Class 1A regional bracket to face Southeast Warren at home after they were able to pound Seymour 70 – 14. That game takes place this Tuesday in Bussey at 7:00 p.m.
